Bryant House

This home, also known as the “Ward House,” was located on Spring Garden Street and was the residence of Dixie Lee Bryant, a charter member of the college faculty. Bryant taught science on campus from 1892 until 1905.

Book Store

The Becher-Weaver Building, located off campus at 915 Northridge Street, was constructed in 1925. Additions were made in 1946 and 1965. In 1922, W. B. Aydelette, Sr. opened the West End Ice Cream Company. Weil-Winfield Residence Hall

The Weil-Winfield Residence Hall, designed by W. C. Holleyman of Greensboro, North Carolina, opened in 1939. Walker Avenue Parking Deck

The Walker Avenue Parking Deck, designed by Hayes Seay Mattern & Mattern of Greensboro, North Carolina, opened in 1994. It serves as the home for UNCG’s Parking Services.

Walker Avenue Bridge

The Walker Avenue Bridge, located on College Avenue, served as a pedestrian walk-way over Walker Avenue and its traffic. The first bridge, a wooden structure built in the early 1900s, was replaced by an iron bridge.  A concrete bridge replaced the iron structure in 1928. The bridge was demolished in 1950.

Vacc (Nicholas) Bell Tower

The forty-seven foot tall Vacc Bell Tower, designed by the Verdin Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, is located in Student Anniversary Plaza on the corner of College Avenue and Spring Garden Street.
