School of Visual and Performing Arts

The School of Visual and Performing Arts at UNCG, was created in 2016, by the incorporation of the School of Art into the existing School of Music, Theater, and Dance. The School of Music Theater and Dance had been created in 2010 by the merger of the then separate Schools of Music, Theater, and Dance, respectively. Upon incorporating the School of Art in 2016, the School of Visual and Performing Arts became the largest and most comprehensive performing arts program in North Carolina and one of the largest in the United States, with approximately 1,400 undergraduate and graduate students and about 90 faculty members.
