Department of Sociology

The Department of Sociology and Economics was established in 1917 and in 1931, separated into two individual departments of Department of Sociology and Department of Economics. Roughly 20 years later, in 1958, the Departments of Sociology and Anthropology merged to create the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. In 1973, the Departments of Sociology and Anthropology separated and the Department of Sociology became independent. Today, the Department of Sociology offers undergraduate and graduate degrees.
