In 2004, UNCG introduced its Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Conflict Resolution. Four years later, in 2008, the name of the Conflict Resolution certificate program was changed to the Certificate Program in Conflict Studies and Dispute Resolution. The name of the program was changed again in 2011 to the Certificate Program in Conflict and Peace Studies. In 2013, the program became its own department named the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies. Today the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies offers a Masters of Arts and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate.
