The Pedestrian Tunnel, designed by Wagner Murray Architects, of Charlotte, North Carolina, is a collaborative effort between UNCG and the North Carolina Railroad Company. It was built to provide a safe connection between the campus and Spartan Village, a mixed-use community located south of the main campus of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), along the Gate City Boulevard corridor (formerly West Lee Street). The official groundbreaking was held on September 10, 2012.
