This building, designed by Clemmer, Horton & Bush of Hickory, North Carolina, opened in 1970. Originally called the Social Sciences Classroom Building, on February 22, 1971, it was named for Frank Porter Graham, president of the University of North Carolina from 1932 to 1949.
