African Student Union

The African Student Union (ASU) was founded at UNCG in September 2002. Its mission is to bring together African students to educate the UNCG community, raise funds for African charities, and foster awareness of African issues.

Phi Beta Kappa

In 1934, a section of the Chapel Hill chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the arts and sciences honorary society, was organized at Woman’s College. It achieved full chapter status itself in 1956.
