Specialized Education Services (SES) is a department within the School of Education (SoE) which provides students with the knowledge and skills to support school-age learners with mild to moderate disabilities and advocate for individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-blind, or hard of hearing.

The department is comprised of three undergraduate programs: Special Education; Interpreting, Deaf Education, & Advocacy services; and Birth through Kindergarten. These programs offer many different major, minor, certificate, and licensure options. The Special Education and Birth through Kindergarden programs also offer graduate courses and degrees. Under the Deaf Education umbrella, the Interpreting, Deaf Education, and Advocacy Services (IDEAS) program is notable, being the only program of its kind at the undergraduate level in the southeastern United States that is specifically geared towards advocating and providing services to individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-blind or hard of hearing.
