In 1982, UNCG introduced its Department of Business Information and Support Systems. The Department of Business Information and Support Systems quickly changed its name in 1984 to the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management. Several years later, in 2012, the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management became the Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management.
